Getting started
Ravnik is a decision log for your team and your AI tools. You write down what was decided and why, and Ravnik keeps it connected to the pages, projects and (where available) code it affected. Your AI reads the same log, so it starts each session already knowing what the team has settled.
Core pieces
- Organization: your team’s workspace. Members, roles and settings live here.
- Project: one body of work inside an organization. Decisions, pages and the session log belong to a project, so unrelated work does not mix.
- Decision: a titled record with its reasoning and a status. Each gets an ID such as
RVK-42. - Page: free-form notes, specs and plans in a sidebar tree.
- Session log: one entry per work session saying what was done and what is still open.
Your first 15 minutes
- Create an account and an organization, then create a project (one per product or body of work).
- Connect your AI (see Connect your AI).
- Ask your AI to log your first decision: “Log a decision that we’re using X for Y, and why.”
- Create one page for current priorities and pin it. Pinned pages are what your AI reads first.
- At the end of your first session, ask your AI to write a session-log entry.
Core concepts
- Proposed, accepted, superseded: a decision starts as proposed. A human accepts it in the app. When a later decision replaces it, the old one becomes superseded, so you keep the history instead of overwriting it.
- Supersedes vs related: use supersedes only when the new decision replaces the old one. Use a relation when two decisions are connected but both still stand. Supersedes cannot cross projects.
- Action required: a decision can be flagged as having a pending action. It stays on the open list until someone marks it resolved.
- Freshness: summary pages such as “Priorities” record the last decision they were synced through. The gap between that marker and the latest decision shows how stale the page is.
- Versions: you can cut a release version from your decisions. The AI drafts the summary and a human publishes it.
